Happy First Day of Spring!

Blessings to you and yours on this beautiful day! A promise of longer days and warmer weather is certainly something to celebrate! There is a multitude of wonderful sims to visit on Second Life! Gardens, Sanctuaries, Forests, or even the elven areas. Get your fairy on and immerse yourself even if you are still knee deep in snow RL!

Here is an article on some of the ways to celebrate the day! Credit to Selena Fox of Circle Sanctuary
Spring Equinox, also known as Ostara, occurs in the middle of March. It marks the beginning of Spring and the time when days and nights are of equal length. The Goddess manifests as Ostara or Eostre with her basket of eggs. She is accompanied by the Hare or Rabbit, a manifestation of the God. Green has been sacred to this Sabbat since ancient times, because it represents the greening of the land with vegetation. This is a festival of new growth.
Prepare egg dishes and share them with friends. Organize egg games, such as egg hunts. Decorate your home with spring flowers and sprouting greens. Wear green clothing as an affirmation of new growth within yourself and Nature. Bless any seeds you plan to plant in your garden. Begin a new project. Make a growth charm out of a hard-boiled egg -- decorate it with symbols, write on it the quality you would like to manifest more fully within yourself, energize it, and then eat it.

Thirsty Thursday: Cider Barrel

Information from Bloodlines Cider Barrel information notecard:

Cider Barrels hold cider made from the apples of the Eternal Orchard that restores humanity that is lost to vampire bites and lycan attacks. Humanity cannot be turned back into Cider, so Cider Barrels can only be refilled by Cider Jugs.

Cider Barrels provide a quick way to restore humanity for any vampire or lycan who wishes to keep humans around long-term as a friendly blood or lumen supply.  One liter of cider translates into a restoration of 20% humanity, which in turn will provide 1 liter of Vital Blood to a vampire, or 10 lumens to a lycan.

Click on a Cider Barrel vendor to rez a new barrel. To buy it, right-click on it and select "Buy". Once you have the barrel, please do not try to "open" it, or you'll remove the script and it won't work anymore.
Further instructions can be obtained on the Bloodlines website or at any Bloodlines vendor.

Cider Barrels come in a variety of sizes to meet your needs 5L, 10L, 15L, 20L and 100L priced from L$499 to L$7999.

Meet And Greet

Our beloved clan, Divine Blood, is continually growing and adding new members. To help them feel welcome and meet some of the family, our royals host Meet and Greet events. Usually held at the Landing Spot, we dance, chat, and add new members to our friends list.  Though we always introduce new members in clan chat, greet them, make them feel welcome there- it's nice to meet "in person".

Steampunk Event

Divine Blood is one of the few clans I know of that holds regular events for its members. From the casual Come As You Are to elaborately decorated, they are highly popular and always fun! We gladly welcome friends, extended family, and nonclan members to join us. All we ask is that you are escorted by one of our members. This Steampunk Event  brought out some fantastic costumes!

R.I.P. Lusty

Our beloved Lady Bloodlustmylia "Lusty" Rajal has passed away real life.  We shall always remember her for her naughty stories, her ballsy attitude, her HUGE ass that she took great pride in, her emoting skills, her creative introduction to new clan members warning them of our less than politically correct demeanor, her love of shoes, and her zeal for life. She was most definitely one of a kind and will be sorely missed.  A celebration of her life will be held today at 2PM SLT. Please join us with happy memories of our Lusty.

Full Moon Tonight!

Full Moon Names and Their Meanings

Full Moon names date back to Native Americans, of what is now the northern and eastern United States. The tribes kept track of the seasons by giving distinctive names to each recurring full Moon. Their names were applied to the entire month in which each occurred. There was some variation in the Moon names, but in general, the same ones were current throughout the Algonquin tribes from New England to Lake Superior. European settlers followed that custom and created some of their own names. Since the lunar month is only 29 days long on the average, the full Moon dates shift from year to year.

Full Worm Moon – March As the temperature begins to warm and the ground begins to thaw, earthworm casts appear, heralding the return of the robins. The more northern tribes knew this Moon as the Full Crow Moon, when the cawing of crows signaled the end of winter; or the Full Crust Moon, because the snow cover becomes crusted from thawing by day and freezing at night. The Full Sap Moon, marking the time of tapping maple trees, is another variation. To the settlers, it was also known as the Lenten Moon, and was considered to be the last full Moon of winter.

Thirsty Thursday: Cider Jug

The Cider Jug is a Bloodlines Product to help Humans regain humanity. Faster and more convenient than eating apples, the cider is accessed through Cider Barrels which we will discuss next week.  The cost for Cider Jug is L$299 for 5 Liters.
Shown above with a Cider Barrel, the Cider Jug is full and ready to be transferred.

1. To transfer the contents to a barrel, rez them both in a scripts allowed area within 20m of each other.
2. Touch (left-click) the Cider Jug to bring up the menu. (Don't click DONE yet!)
3. Touch the barrel you want to refill, then click the "Select" button.
4. Click the "Done" button. Another menu will appear with the options "Transfer" and "Cancel".
5. Click the "Transfer" button and the cider will be transferred to your barrel.

After the contents have been transferred, the Cider Jug is clearly empty.

To see the whole process in action, check out my earlier posting starring Otis.

Dogs Vs. Cats

Lady Khimie hosted this very interesting themed event. Thinking outside of the box, but yet very cute!! DJ Lord Alex DJ'd and took over hosting duties when Khimie fell asleep! A nail-biting tie between Starry and Neilty came down to one last vote. Starry begged to let Neilty win and what Starry wants, Starry gets.

Thirsty Thursday: Lycan Beast

For those who would like to take their roleplay as a lycan (werewolf) one step further, Bloodlines and other vendors offer full lycan avatars.  I found a range of these avatars greatly differing in quality  priced from L$109 to L$3,000.

Here is the standard one offered from Bloodlines Vendors.
This one is based on the character of Michael from the Underworld movie.
Found here

This vendor has a variety of nice AV's including werewolves.
This one was the least expensive I found. If you are unsure, try this one out and get a feel for the roleplay.
This one is fun for a group of people to run as a pack.

These come in a variety of colors and in both sexes.

Priced at L$2499, these are pricey, but well worth it.

Which one is your favorite? Let me know in the comments section!
