Fantasy or Future

Lady Lara held another interesting concept event, Fantasy or Future.  This innovative mirage included spaceships, mushrooms, other worldly thoughts brought to "life" by the incredible visions of Lara. Clan members dressed as fairies, cyborgs, robots, and princesses.  And somehow it all worked within the platform she created.  DJ Irish completed the experience with her awesome music.  Great job!
Kah won the event with his cyborg faun looking costume.

Dearest Dolly

A Blood Doll Appreciation event was held in honor of all our fantastic blood angels and blood dolls. Regardless of the term you use, they are our reason for survival.  Thanks to all those that offer their sweet blood and lumens to those of us who have embraced the dark side so we may continue on.  Queen Amethyst set up a prize box with apples distributed every 10 minutes during the event.   Thanks to Lady Lara and her decorating crew for the wonderful ambiance they created.  Thanks to DJ Nikki for the awesome tunes.

Masquerade

Lady Skye created a masquerade ball of mystery and intrigue intermingled with an air of seduction and sophistication.  As Countess Irish played the music, we all peeked from our masks to marvel and wonder at each other's gowns.  The men were equally handsome and in rare form.  Were we lightheaded from the altitude or intoxicated with drink? Was it the atmosphere of merriment? I can hardly recall what all happened but cannot help but smile a wicked little smile as I reminisce about this night.

Steampunk Event

After the clan meeting on Thursday, Countess Ivy held a Steampunk Event in the arena.  DJ Lady Silvia played some interesting Steampunk music to set the mood. Countess Irish made the incredible moving wheels and gears dance floor just for the event. King Darrell added an extra L$2000 to the board for a grand total of L$2300!
"Steampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction, alternate history, and speculative fiction that came into prominence during the 1980s and early 1990s.Specifically, steampunk involves an era or world where steam power is still widely used—usually the 19th century and often Victorian era Britain—that incorporates prominent elements of either science fiction or fantasy. Works of steampunk often feature anachronistic technology or futuristic innovations as Victorians may have envisioned them; in other words, based on a Victorian perspective on fashion, culture, architectural style, art, etc. This technology may include such fictional machines as those found in the works of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne or real technologies like the computer but developed earlier in an alternate history." (from Wikipedia)

Steampunk is an increasingly  popular genre within Second Life as well. Quite a few of us had just finished the Steam the Hunt 3 hunt and were excited to show off our new prizes! The beauty of Steampunk is you can dress like Victorian traditional or more bolts and wires and steam driven technological. It all works!
Here is Irish aboard the giant Steampunk ship that landed in the arena.

TV Theme Event

The totally awesome and talented Countess Irish not only hosted the TV Theme Event Sunday morning she also DJ'd it too! An eclectic mix of current hits, old hits, and TV theme songs had us all laughing and dancing. She knows how to throw a party! Even though she is no longer required to host events she is such a phenomenal person, putting the clan first. She always steps up when needed even with strep throat! Thank you Irish, for all that you do.
Venus was Jessica Rabbit, Giovanni dressed as Snoopy, Irish was Wednesday from the Addams Family, Dmari dressed as Smurfette,  and Freya was Jeannie from I Dream of Jeannie. I failed to get pictures of Benny as Shrek and the winner, Arna, as Gizmo!

Gods & Goddesses Event

Gods and Goddesses are not limited to those of Greek and Roman tales. The list of deities goes into the hundreds maybe thousands. These magical tales have touched our lives in many ways. The stories of the stars, of great battles, of creation itself, of love and lovers, of crops and food, of fertility and children.
On Thursday Lady Arna held a Gods and Goddesses event. She did a fantastic job creating this Parthenon of partying!  DJ Countess Irish was spinning the tunes as we all embraced our inner God or Goddess. These choices reflected our interest in what aspect we liked about each. Some of the popular themes were love & sexuality, war & warfare, the moon, archangels, children and childbirth, islands and oceans, and fertility.

The impact of these mythological tales was not limited to Rome or Greece. Other popular stories come from Egypt, Celtic, Japanese,  and Norse mythology.

Other areas mythological stories originate are Australian, Aboriginal, Chinese, Asian, Japanese, Shinto, Korean, Middle Eastern, Central American, Cretian, Christo-Pagan,  Sumerian, Aztec, Phoenician, Zorasterian, Eskimo, Finnish-Ugrian, Indo-European, Arabic, Islamic, Santerian, Mesopotamian, and Streghe.

We had 5 winners take home the winnings from the event. They were Venus, Lunafire, Acharma, Benny and Zelda. I encourage you to seek out some mythological God or Goddess that you connect with for our next event and tell us why you like it. See you on Mt. Olympus!

Spotlight On: Irish Breen

This fantastic woman celebrates her 2 year rez day today. There isn't much Countess Irish doesn't do! She joined Bloodlines back in August 2008 and joined Divine Blood along with Princess Briarna's family in March 2010.  Soon after she became a royal as a Lady and was recently promoted to Countess all while remaining a Blood Doll. She is also a phenomenal DJ, head of Divine Fashion, a model for C-Star, and frequent contributor to this blog. Always there with a helpful hand, a great sense of humor and an infectious smile. From her profile:

"You may be right.. I maybe crazy.. but I just might be the lunatic your looking for!" ( Billy Joel).

Not your average kind of bear!

I have a wicked sense of humor. I sometimes play well with others . . and I am constantly changing. Everyday I am different. Heck every hour sometimes.
It is not that which defines me as to who I am.. its that I define myself.

I AM A DJ>> Available for your next party!

Happy Rez Day Irish! We love you more than you'll ever know! xoxoxo
