Thirsty Thursday: Barrel Siphon

Specifically designed by Bloodlines to transfer Cider from one container to another. This handy little gadget costs L$399 at any Bloodlines Human Vendor. To use rez it between two Cider Barrels; all items must be within 20 m of each other.  Left-click the siphon, then click the barrel you want to siphon from. Click "select" button. Now push the "next" button on the siphon menu. Then touch the container you want to siphon into. Push the "select" button. Now push the "done" button. You can then choose the amounts to transfer. The siphon arms will retract when you are finished. TADA!!! *Remember to use in an area where scripts are allowed.

Story Contest

We are going to have a story contest in memory of Lusty who could write a naughty story like no other.  There will be three prizes 1st will be 1000 L the second will be 750 L and third will be 500  L.

All entries need to be in to Leigh Rosenstar by March 30th and will be voted on by clan.  I will put a bookcase up at the landing where the stories will be available on notecards to read.

Meet And Greet

Our beloved clan, Divine Blood, is continually growing and adding new members. To help them feel welcome and meet some of the family, our royals host Meet and Greet events. Usually held at the Landing Spot, we dance, chat, and add new members to our friends list.  Though we always introduce new members in clan chat, greet them, make them feel welcome there- it's nice to meet "in person". 

Steampunk Event

Divine Blood is one of the few clans I know of that holds regular events for its members. From the casual Come As You Are to elaborately decorated, they are highly popular and always fun! We gladly welcome friends, extended family, and nonclan members to join us. All we ask is that you are escorted by one of our members. This Steampunk Event  brought out some fantastic costumes!

Full Moon Names and Their Meanings

Full Moon names date back to Native Americans, of what is now the northern and eastern United States. The tribes kept track of the seasons by giving distinctive names to each recurring full Moon. Their names were applied to the entire month in which each occurred. There was some variation in the Moon names, but in general, the same ones were current throughout the Algonquin tribes from New England to Lake Superior. European settlers followed that custom and created some of their own names. Since the lunar month is only 29 days long on the average, the full Moon dates shift from year to year. 

• Full Worm Moon – March As the temperature begins to warm and the ground begins to thaw, earthworm casts appear, heralding the return of the robins. The more northern tribes knew this Moon as the Full Crow Moon, when the cawing of crows signaled the end of winter; or the Full Crust Moon, because the snow cover becomes crusted from thawing by day and freezing at night. The Full Sap Moon, marking the time of tapping maple trees, is another variation. To the settlers, it was also known as the Lenten Moon, and was considered to be the last full Moon of winter.

Full Moon Fever!

Feeling a little wild? A little frisky? Perhaps you can't sleep? A strange feeling is in the air during a full moon they say.  Many strange occurrences are attributed to a full moon.

In their article, Lunacy and the Full Moon, Scott O. Lilienfield and Hal Arkowitz question if a full moon really does trigger strange behavior. "Across the centuries, many a person has uttered the phrase “There must be a full moon out there” in an attempt to explain weird happenings at night. Indeed, the Roman goddess of the moon bore a name that remains familiar to us today: Luna, prefix of the word “lunatic.” Greek philosopher Aristotle and Roman historian Pliny the Elder suggested that the brain was the “moistest” organ in the body and thereby most susceptible to the pernicious influences of the moon, which triggers the tides. Belief in the “lunar lunacy effect,” or “Transylvania effect,” as it is sometimes called, persisted in Europe through the Middle Ages, when humans were widely reputed to transmogrify into werewolves or vampires during a full moon."

Whether you choose to believe these theories or not, I will be posting information each month about the full moon.  I will update on the first two full moons of the year since they have already passed.

• Full Wolf Moon – January Amid the cold and deep snows of midwinter, the wolf packs howled hungrily outside Indian villages. Thus, the name for January’s full Moon. • Full Snow Moon – February Since the heaviest snow usually falls during this month, native tribes of the north and east most often called February’s full Moon the Full Snow Moon. Some tribes also referred to this Moon as the Full Hunger Moon, since harsh weather conditions in their areas made hunting very difficult.

Vampire & Lycan Ball

Tuesday night Lady Lorielle held an incredible ball for the vamps and lycans (and blood dolls too!) She made a totally badass stage for the three highest royals to sit and gaze upon us all.  She also had spikes for us to impale ourselves and chill. Did you try her dances balls?! F***ing HOT!  DJ Baroness Lara brought her trivia ball for those of us who are competitive. (WTF is the answer to that Seven Dwarves question anyway?) She also had an incredibly diverse playlist for us to enjoy.  From Combichrist to The Doors to Ke$ha there is always something for everyone! If I didn't get your picture- I'm sorry. I  was distracted by
my super cute date. :-)~

Lycan Turning

Recently I had the opportunity to attend a lycan turning.  For those of you not familiar with the term, a lycan is the werewolf aspect of the Bloodlines game. In the middle ages a person who looked or acted like a werewolf suffered from lycanothropy.  This is where the word comes from.  Here is a step by step guide to turning a Lycan:

1. Find the crate in inventory.. under recent items may help to locate it easier.. click the crate and drag it from inventory onto the ground.


2. Then right click the the Rage crate, choose open from the pie menu, and copy to inventory when the contents appear. and open. Find The folder and open it.

3. Have the victim wear the HUD, 1.2 claw, and stat viewer. The Rage crate contains two claws, one for each hand, and a pose stand stand to adjust them to fit each individual avatar. The 1.2 claw, worn on the left hand, is the only active claw that can attack. The claw worn on the right hand is for looks only.

4. Both liege and minion must ALWAYS wear their stat viewers when draining blood. This will help keep a better eye on humanity and lumen levels, and prevent accidental destruction if draining excess lumens into a prism. It is also a good idea to periodically scan yourself and your victim if there is a lot of lag.

5. Start the draining process... The Rampage Claw is a great tool to drain your victim quickly, as it allows you to take up to 75% of their humanity in one shot, but the claws work just as well for those who want a more realistic turning. Drain your victim to 0% humanity, and their stat viewer will change from human to revenant.

6. Once at 0%.. They must be filled back up with 50 lumens by either drinking from a prism or attacking before they change from revenant to lycan.

7. Have them then drain back down to 30 lumens to allow space for hunting and feeding.

8. Following the instructions given in the Settting/Changing Liege notecard in the New Members Packet v.9, have your new minion set liege to you. After this has been completed, please follow the chain of command in order to get your minion a group invite.

9. Be sure to pass your minion a New Members Packet, explain the HUD functions, teach them to claw, and introduce them to their new family!!!

If more help is needed contact your leige or follow chain of command. There are online indicators located in each of the turning rooms in the castle for your convenience if you run into any problems.

On a side note: This turning was a rare occurance of having a vampire turn a lycan. And yes, it is possible. His vampire liege drained him of all humanity while he wore the RAGE HUD.  He then filled up on lumens from a prism.
